Various website services, e.g. online shopping site and news site, sprung up like mushrooms. In terms of the application performance of the sites, it is believed that everyone had encountered delayed and lagged situations. Therefore, the complexity analysis of website service framework performance is very important. In the thesis, the service framework of an actual website was used to establish the operational flowchart for website functions. The operational flowchart was then transformed into corresponding Petri net model. The Petri net model was integrated in the static complexity measurement and dynamic complexity measurement. Static complexity measurement is also called counting measurement. Through static counting, the number of elements on the Petri net was counted. The more the elements meant the higher the complexity. However, the complexity of dynamic execution could not be measured this way as the complexity could only be estimated by the number of elements. Dynamic complexity measurement is the execution path measurement. By simulating every execution path and multiplying the path cost by an assigned probability, a value, which was the dynamic complexity, was gained. In the thesis, the concept of execution path measurement and perceived weight was used to find out the appropriate value for the perceived weight through actual computer and website performances. The execution path measurement was allowed to correspond to the actual website execution status more significantly. The research carried out may provide future researchers a suitable complexity analysis method for Petri net model of website service framework.
