Work is not the only factor causing the stress. Therefore, it is very important for the authorities to pay a close attention to the problem and reform the leave of absence system to support the policeman a better family life. Moreover, the general survey was utilized as the research method, which shows no significances on the test of sample and population. The result also elucidated that the sheriffs in Taiwan have a tendency of mediate-level burnout, which might be resulted from the design of the questionnaire and the responses of the subjects. Two question items on “Emotional Exhaustion” and “Depresonalization” were worded with negative meaning and the questionnaire was a seven-point scale, which may lead the subjects to respond with “neutral” or “no comments.” Future work may focus on comparison study to effectively measure the extent of the burnout from work.
