The procedures of this research are listed as below; first of all, this study collects the reports of 76 buildings which are evaluated by contracted (by evaluation method in 1999 edition). With the results of statistical analysis, this paper analyzes and categorizes the characters and general problems on seismic capability of military buildings. Secondly, using primary evaluation method in 2003 version, this study rapidly calculate the seismic indicator of three typical buildings which are pick from above 76 buildings. Finally, this study tries to develop retrofit strategies according the preliminary evaluate method in 2003 version. The study shows that the military capabilities of old buildings earthquake-resistant can be improved by increasing the cross-section of walls.
