Based on construction dicussions of four anchor caisson methods and four other cases of pressured caisson method, the comparison has been made in terms of construction schedule, geological conditions, safety, and auxiliary method modules respectively. The results reveal that the anchor caisson method has more advantages than pressure ones during construction. The anchor caisson method is more superior to the pressured caisson method in terms of the construction schedule. In addition, the anchor caisson method can apply with a wide variety of soil condition, and has significant safety when applied to the metropolitan city surrounded with high density of buildings. Overall, this study has also analysed the difference about the construction together with the auxiliary method as well as the set-up of reaction-force system. In Taiwan, the study of caisson method mostly is focused on Harbor and River engineering or Material and Structures fields, it is not popular when they are applied into civil engineering, particularly in downtown city. When the pressure caisson method was first introduced in Taiwan in 2006, there was no practical case due to the higher costs. Without taking the cost factors into account, this study emphasizes just the application of pressured caisson method and anchor caisson method in Kaohsiung area.
