Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 人力資源發展系 === 99 === The study was to investigate the effectiveness of Coaching on Managers in science and technology industry, regarding their locus of control, self-efficiency, organizational-based self-esteem, and management performance. The researcher applied the equivalent posttest control group method. The study recruited 70 participants, who were the Manager of a well-know Semiconductor company in southern Taiwan. The participants were divided into experimental and control groups, with 35 participants in each group. Participants in the experimental group member’s Director accepted Coaching training classes and then used GROW procedure coach them. Participants in the control group didn’t attend any program. The “Organizational-based Locus of Control Scale,” “Organizational-based Self-efficiency Scale,” and “Organizational-based Self-esteem Scale” were administered to participants of both groups after the overall procedure. The researcher applied t test and one-way analysis of covariance to analyze the data. The results of the study indicated that: 1. Coaching had significantly effect on enhancing self-concept, self-efficiency and self-esteem in organizations. 2. Coaching had no significant effect on enhancing managerial performance of participants of treatment group, compared those of the control group. Finally, results of the study were discussed and suggestions were provided to the practice of business consultation and future researches.
