It can be improved by taking hyaluronic acid (HA) or an aqueous solution containing HA as the artificial synovial fluid on the patients. The focus of this research paper is to analyze the rheological and wear performance of the HA solution. Taguchi method was employed to arrange the test matrix of the rolling/sliding wear test experiments. L9 orthogonal array of experiments of the Taguchi quality engineering planning was used to test the tribological performance of the HA aqueous solution with 4 different factors, which are HA concentration, test load, speed and time, respectively. Three levels were selected for each factor. The test time we selected was 15, 30, or 60 minutes, respectively. The concentration we selected was 0.5%, 1%, or 2%, respectively. The speed we selected were 1 rpm, 5 rpm, or 10 rpm, respectively. The load we selected was 20 kgf, 40 kgf, or 60 kgf, respectively. Results indicated that a minimal friction coefficient of 0.044 was achieved with the test conditions of 1% HA aqueous solution concentration, 5 rpm test speed, 20 kgf test load, and the 15 minutes test time. However, from the viewpoints of minimal wear displacement, it showed that there is a minimal wear displacement of 3.483×10-8 mm/mm with the test condition combination of 2% HA aqueous solution concentration, 10 rpm test speed, 60 kgf load, and 60 minutes test time. From the results of rheological tests, it showed that the viscosity of 2% HA aqueous solution concentration is much more stable than those with 0.5% or 1% of HA aqueous solution concentration. Besides, the viscosity is 40 times higher than those with 0.5% or 1% of HA aqueous solution concentration under an angular velocity higher than 1 rad/s. This indicates that it can provide more protection for the joint under violent movement. We may thus conclude that the concentration of HA aqueous solution of 2% is the best option from the tribological point of view. 朱孝業 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW |
