The Study on Evaluation Indicators for Special B&B Inn – The Example of Seashore Type

They continuously think as customers oriented to push working on the program of nationwide hotel star rating system and assessment of B&B inn in the hospitality and lodging industry. They can provide tourist the superior conditions of tourism environment through objective information of evaluation. Moreover, Taiwan is surrounded by ocean and has rich ocean resources and specialty. So it is suitable to develop the seashore type of special B&B inn. Hence, the purposes of this study is to build up evaluation indicators, researching relative importance of evaluation indicators, and suggesting ways of evaluating system or grading system for seashore type of special B&B inn. By induction of literature review, we provide four levels of indicators and 38 indicators totally for seashore type of special B&B inn. Research data was collected from questionnaires by experts of relative field, officers who are in charge of B&B inn affairs in the central and local government, the operators of B&B inn, and members of B&B inn association. Then, this study uses the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to calculative and statistic the ratio of every indicator for above purposes. The conclusions are as follows. 1. The special evaluation indicator weighs more than basic evaluation indicator in the first level indicator. The experts considered that it is very important to be outstanding specialty on area or type of special B&B inn. 2. Ocean resource specialty and software service specialty are relative important in the second level indicator. They matched very well in specialty and type of B&B inn. 3. Ocean nature environment, attraction of ocean service and lodging quality are relative important in the third level indicator. Tourist emphasized on ocean nature environment, ocean activity service and lodging quality to make a choice of tour on such trends of specialty and superiority for B&B inn. 4. Nature environment condition, ocean ecological environment, weather condition, experience of ocean activity, and connecting resources of ocean humanities activity are relative important in the fourth level indicator. It has to pay attention on scenery of nature and humanities to meet tourist request for seashore type of special B&B inn.
