Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 藥學研究所 === 99 === Ordered mesoporous bioactive glasses (MBGs) have been successfully synthesized and used in drug delivery systems. They were characterized by nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms, TEM, SEM, and FT-IR techniques. They possess characteristics such as tunable and uniform pore size, large surface area, and high pore volume, which make it possible for them to adsorb drug molecules and release them from the meso-structured matrices at a controlled rate. In vitro release, nifedipine, a poorly water-soluble drug, was used as a model drug. Paddle apparatus was applied for the dissolution test at pH 1.2 and 6.8. Both of MBG and N-MBG showed slower releasing at pH 1.2 compared to the nifedipine powder. At pH 6.8, the dissolution profile of N-MBG can be described using zero order kinetic model. Overall, the MBGs can be useful as a drug delivery system due to its controlled release and predictable drug release characteristics.
