Objective The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between diarrhea associated factors, which were in the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy within one week and three months, including low-fat diet, negative personality, pre-laparoscopic cholecystectomy excretion pattern, gastrointestinal problems, drugs induced diarrhea, non-hygiene food, and to identify the possible predictors. Methods A prospective & correlational design with purposive sampling was adopted and datas were collected from 66 post laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients who were educated to implement low-fat diet in a regional hospital in central Taiwan. Measurments included “Basic Properties Scale”, “Low-Fat Diet Assessment Scale”, “Negative Personality Assessment Scale”, “Diarrhea Assessment Scale”, “Gastrointestinal Problems Assessment Scale”, “ Drugs induced diarrhea Assessment Scale”, “Non-Hygiene Food Assessment Scale”. The data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, Chi-Square, Pearson’s correlation and Multiple regressions. Results The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The highest average score went to diarrhea occurring within one week in the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy, followed by pre-existing excretion pattern, and the lowest was diarrhea occurring within three months in the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy. V 2. The significant correlation factors influencing the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy diarrhea within one week were: “low-fat diet”, “pre-existing excretion pattern” and “gender”. The most significant associated factor influencing the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy diarrhea within three months was: “low-fat diet”. 3. “Low-fat diet”, “pre-existing excretion pattern” and “gender” were the significant predictors in the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy within one week. Conclusions/Implications for practice “Low-fat diet” and “diarrhea’’ within three months in the post laparoscopic cholecystectomy’’ showed significant correlation. In order to decrease the incidence of diarrhea, these empirical findings should be formulated and applied as important educational policy for nursing interventions for patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy diarrhea. 陳鳳櫻助理教授 學位論文 ; thesis 108 zh-TW
