In general, R&D may not be productive. In research, accounting information will be disturbed by "false R&D". This study tries to explore the relationship between R&D and profitability. Case studies are used to explore some clues about the relationship between R&D and profitability. The preliminary result of this paper is consistent with our logic. In reality, the relationship between R&D and accountings profit is not straightforward. This paper finds that the solar energy firms in Taiwan seldom produces core parts. They focus market shares, not long-term R&D capability.
