碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 中國語文學系碩士在職專班 === 99 === Tang Legend is a magnificent and wonderful work in unique style of arts at the Chinese traditional literature which has various forms like history writing, poem creation and literary criticism.The reasons why it went this way should be credited to the reality of the social and cultural system besides the development of the literature itself. The fiction works by the masters in literature in the Tang Dynasty are quite rich in subjective consciousness. We feel like we could have a clearer picture of the writers’ complicated and subtle mindset gradually by analyzing the era background, the goal and the personages in their works. No matter the reality or fantasy, the works of Tang Legend could reflect the behaving in society of litterateur in contemporary incidentally. Meanwhile, it implied their criticism of the marriage system in reality and great admiration for ideal marriage. Furthermore, via the romance and marriage fictions, we could see and realize more clearly the forbiddance and constraint in the ancient feudal society which the writers suffered emotionally. First of all, discussing the developing progress of Tang Legend in view of political, literature, religion, and social economy and then briefly describe its characteristics in form, subject matter and art.Secondly, discussing the life dream and value of litterateur in Tang Dynasty and then gradually getting to know how they acted and behaved in society through their works.Finally, discussing and analyzing the romance, marriage and related subjects in Tang Legend.Comparing and verifying the rules of marital legal system and marital realistic status in Tang Legend love story in order to find out the conjunction between them; moreover, describing clearly the conjunction degree they agreed mutually which helps to identifying exactly the contradiction and conflict between them
