Therefore, there is a need for continuous monitoring of thiamin and riboflavin status. The study was aimed to assess the thiamin and riboflavin status of adults over 19 years old by erythrocyte activity coefficients of transketolase and glutathione reductase for the NAHSIT 2005-2008. The thiamin and riboflavin status of Taiwanese over 19 yrs improved significantly. The prevalence rates of normal and deficient status for thiamin were 83.4% and around 10.5%, respectively. The prevalence rates of normal and marginal deficient status for riboflavin were 71.6% and 21.3%, respectively. Among age strata, men of 19-30 yr and women of 19-30 yr and 31-50 yr had higher prevalence of deficient or marginal status than other age strata, more severe in women. Among education level, high school graduates and people who had never attended school had higher marginal and defiecint rates of thiamin and riboflain status. Among regional strata, Peng-Hu and Middle area had lower rates of normal thiamin and riboflavin status. Among various populations, Aboriginals and Hakka descents had higher marginal and deficient rates for riboflavin. Diseases, alcohol habits and cognitive function were correlated with thiamin and riboflavin status. Our study served the function of continuously monitoring the thiamin and riboflavin status of Taiwanes through NAHSITs. Further cooperative data analyses may generate evidence as the basis for making future nutrition policy. 駱菲莉 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
