碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 應用統計學研究所 === 99 === This study investigates the impacts of personal physical and mental health on the behavior of substances abuse. The analyzed data, chosen from the data bank of questionnaires of national health in 2005, filled out by the persons at the ages from 18 to 64, are totally 12387 items. There are five variables of this study, including population background, health status, self-evaluated health status, behavior related with abused substances, and behavior of drug abuse. Based on the processes of frequency distribution, descriptive statistics, relative analysis, Chaid Analysis, as well as CART, the findings are as follows. First, the people in Taiwan easily suffer from cardiovascular diseases and metabolism system diseases. Second, Metabolism system diseases are closely related with mental status. Third, behavior of drug abuse starts with the behavior of chewing betel nuts and then of drinking. Besides, the former is related with smoking, marital status, and SF-36.
