The main purpose was to prevent SIDS (Sudden infant death syndrome) via a breathing monitor system. This system was composed by breathing signal capture unit, instrument amplifier, active filter, Zigbee server device, and PC software. This system used a PVDF sensor as a breathing monitor detector. This sensor is able to detect a small movement of belly which is caused by an infant breathing. In signal capture and filter unit, an IA amplifier was used to amplify a breathing signal, and noise was filtered by an active filter. The CC2430 built-in 12 bit ADC could transfer breathing signal data from analog to digital. Thus Micro-process processes and transfers digital breathing signal data to server client device by a Zigbee protocol. PC Software would send SMS to the parent or doctor by Skype once breath interval time of an infant is over setting value. This system was designed on 3V power system.
