Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 管理學系 === 99 === The purpose of this study is to evaluate 32 sport utility vehicles (SUVs) of sixteen major world automobile manufacturing companies from a car dealer’s perspective by using production approach. This study uses context-dependent data envelopment analysis and cross efficiency meacure as the evaluation tools and selects two inputs (price and maintenance cost) and 5 outputs (c.c. ; ps; kg-m; L/ km; and safety facility).
The results of this study show: (i) the levels of efficiency frontiers of SUVs are divided into three levels, the first level includes 15 SUVs, the second level includes 13 SUVs, and the third level includes 4 SUVs ; (ii) DMU 9 is the best practice on the first level, DMU 29 is the best practice on the second level; DMU 5 is the best practice on the third level ; (iii) DMU 9 is the benchmarking SUV, DMU 25、DMU 31、DMU 32 is the niche player, potential competitors are DMU 21 and DMU 22 ; (v) DMU 20 has the best level of attractiveness,DMU 11 has the worst level of progress of the second frontier to the first frontier, DMU 8 has the worst level of progress of the third frontier to the first frontier, and DMU 5 has the worst level of progress of the third frontier to the second frontier ; and (iv) a SUV with a high level of attractiveness doest not have a high level of progress.
