Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 傳播學系 === 99 === It is getting popular to have a pet recently, which generates a huge pet business. However, we cannot neglect the fact that pets have become not only the subjects but also the interface of interpersonal communication. By studying the daily interactions among pet owner, pet and family members, this research wants to find out their interpersonal relationship. This research is a case study; my client is a thirty-year-old unmarried lady. This research also uses participant observation and in-depth interview to collect the first hand data. Eric Berne’s theory of “transactional analysis” is also applied to analyze the data. This research concludes that the interaction among the pet owner, pet and family members do not only reflect its literally meaning, but also the deep structure of life scrip of the client.
