Comparing with traditional injection molding technology, the IMD has advantage of product quality, product design, mold design, and the molding guidelines. However, the challenge of IMD technology is to control the Ink Wash-out issue during injection molding process which cause lower product yield. There are lots of research and study nowadays in improvement this kind of issue. This research apply Taguchi method to optimize the injection molding process parameters and the dominate factors in control Ink Wash-out issue. The DOE results from a vertical injection gate design condition shows that the best DOE combination is the set of A1B1C1D1, which the process condition are molding temperature 230 deg C, Mold temperature 20 deg C, Injection speed 40%, Injection pressure 60%. Here, the result also indicates that Mold temperature is the most dominate factor toward Ink Wash-out issue from the ANOVA table contribution ratio and response surface analysis.
