As known, the solar altitude and azimuth angles are changing depending not only on the time of each day and date of each year but also the location of longitude/latitude, the information can be calculated by use of meteorological data. In order to absorb the solar energy efficiently, it is necessary to make the solar facility to face the solar incidence in right angle. The present study integrates the personal computer, PLC controller, motor driver and serve motor to establish a monitoring system for tracking the solar incidence angle. By the aids of a good calculating function of a computer and a excellent I/O function of a PLC controller, the system has the following advantages: (a)Good economical effect: the system can promote the efficiency substantially to 30%. (b)Reliable: the personal computer and PLC controller are well developed equipments that have powerful I/O and program abilities and can be maintained easily, (c)Flexible application: the system has calibration functions that calculate mechanism’s gear ratio and pulse number per revolution for the motor driver. The calibration functions make the system applicable globally to any particular solar facility.
