Since July 1989, Taiwan has taken in a formal move to promote privatization of state-owned enterprises. The purpose of this study is to compare the company''s operating performance before and after privatization in 1988. To understand the overall business performance before and after privatization case, this study conducts a comparison analysis from organizational change, financial condition, operating performance and the case study method. And, the findings of operating performance after the privatization can be summarized in the following two major points: First, company splits the business operation into industry and asset management framwork, emphasizing not only on the importance of asset management, but also ability to smooth earnings growth over the years. Thus, it makes the strong foundation for the company''s EPS being the top for the next nine years within the listed insurance peers in Taiwan. Second, in terms of the growth of all new contract, effective contract and premium income, the overall market share of the company during privatization of the early (year 1987~ 1999)was higher than before-privatization operating performance.
