碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 經營管理碩士在職專班 === 99 === Pawn industry does not exist in the beginning of human history but is an inevitable result when socio-economic development of a society achieves certain level. In Taiwan, pledge changes from daily necessities to luxury goods, showing that pawn industry evolves with the changes of time and contributes to economic development. We performed SWOT analysis on Taiwanese pawn industry and interviewed Taiwanese pawn business owners based on information collected regarding their Chinese counterparts in an attempt to provide entry strategy for Taiwanese pawn shop owners going into Chinese market.Results are as follow: 一、 Understanding the laws and regulations concerning pawn industry is the priority for entering Chinese market: Taiwanese pawn industry is well-defined and equipped to reduce risk with professionalism but faces challenges in terms of market structure and relevant regulations in China. 二、 Laws and regulations regarding pawn industry vary in Taiwan and China. Chinese pawn industry development focuses more on the owners, human capital and cultivation of knowledge; for Taiwanese pawn industry, however, combining knowledge and enhancing human resources will make a business leading brand that transforms this industry into service one. 三、 The signing of Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement and imbalanced development is a rare opportunity for Taiwanese pawn shops marching into Chinese pawn industry. In a country with almost 1.4 billion of population, business opportunities abound. A saying goes that “There is no sunset industry but management”. Development of Taiwan pawn industry in China will be compressed as more investors move westward. Thus, enhancing features of individual company is the best entry strategy into Chinese market.
