However, if we produce the video contents by actual cameras, the equipment cost is very high. In order to reduce this burden, the technology of view synthesis was developed. All operations of view synthesis are based on depth map, but to achieve high accuracy of the depth map is quite difficult. To reduce the influence of the artifacts of the depth map on the synthesized views, this paper proposed a low complexity algorithm could determine the error regions of depth map. According to edge-judgment and the comparison of the rounding and non-rounding disparity, we could solve the problems that are residual edges and the crack in objects which have the same depth value. We utilize the continuity of depth to group the same depth values to reduce the computational complexity. This paper improving the quality of virtual views by two proposed techniques, residual edge removing and compensation for round-off errors. Compared to the virtual views which didn’t add this two techniques, the PSNR average increase of 1.7dB. Moreover, this paper proposed another technique, depth-segment determination.
