It is very important to have a lot of natural resources to keep developing the economy of Taiwan. One of them is wood raw material, including softwood. The main exporters of softwood in the world are Russia, and the countries of North America, such as the USA, and Canada. Presently Taiwan doesn’t do wood logging anymore and prefers to import it from others countries. The main exporters of softwood to Taiwan are the USA and Canada, then goes China. The most interesting fact is that China itself same like Taiwan hasn’t done logging softwood for many years, and just buys a lot of wood materials, also softwood materials from Russia and others countries. Russia is a leading country in exporting softwood. It trades with many European countries, such as Germany, Finland, UK, Italy, etc. Also Russia has contracts with some African countries. Russia is a main softwood exporter to Asian market. The biggest buyers are Japan, Korea and China. However, Russia doesn’t have any business relations with Taiwan in this sphere. The top softwood suppliers in Taiwan are North American countries represented by the USA and Canada, and then China as the third biggest. While American and Canadian products are more expensive and their expenditures of logging are higher, Russian goods are more competitive because of the price. China plays a role of intermediary between Russia and Taiwan. China stop logging many years ago and nowadays they purchase softwood materials from Russia, process them and finally sell to Taiwan. none 羅慶龍 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 81 en_US |
