Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 航太與系統工程所 === 99 === In this study, an experimental study of the engine performance and exhaust emission in a commercial with four-stroke spark ignition engine (SI engine) is carried out. The appropriate amount of hydrogen is injected into the manifold and is premixed with the air before entering the engine. In addition, the Taguchi method is applied to this study. The method includes the parametric design and the selection of orthogonal arrays. It can reduce the amount of experiments. With the aid of statistical analysis, the optimal combination of parameters and the accuracy of the experiments can be obtained. The main parameters include the amount of hydrogen, orifice size of nozzle, and engine load. According to the experimental results, the thermal efficiency of the engine, and amount of exhaust emission of the optimal-design engine have much better performance than those of the original-design engine. The difference of the thermal efficiency between the confirmation experiment and the predicted value is around 4%. When an appropriate amount of hydrogen added to the engine with the lean combustion, it can reduce the amount of exhaust emission and increase the thermal efficiency of the engine. However, it reduce the output power of the engine slightly.
