The effects of stitching direction, stitching pitch and stitching space on mixed-mode fracture toughness of carbon fiber braided composite materials were investigated. The experiment results showed that, the fracture toughness of transverse stitched specimen are higher than longitudinal stitched one in the same stitching pitch and stitching space, but fracture toughness of longitudinal stitched specimen which 3mm stitching pitch and 6.2mm stitching space higher than transverse stitched one. The fracture toughness of specimen decrease with stitching pitch increase in the same stitching direction and stitching space, but the tendency which transverse stitched and 6.2mm stitching space are not. The fracture toughness of specimen increased with stitching space decrease in the same stitching direction and stitching pitch, but the fracture toughness of specimen which transverse stitched and 3mm stitching pitch decreased with stitching space decrease. Stitching yarn in the specimen mainly fractures at middle region of stitching yarn in transverse stitched specimen.
