博士 === 逢甲大學 === 中國文學所 === 99 === There were many people who studied the theory of Duan Yu-cai’s “Liu Shu;”however, most of them looked into it from “Wen Zi Xue’s” point of view, but very few of them looked into it from “Jing Xue’s” point of view; thus, when most people talked about “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie”, they thought the two methods belong to “Zao Zi Principle,” not to Duan Yu-cai’s “Yong Zi Principle.” In fact, “Zao Zi Principle” and “Yong Zi Principle” are simply from different standpoints. Those who insist on “Zao Zi Principle” see it from the standpoint of the process of word’s origin; others who insist on “Yong Zi Principle” see it from the standpoint of explaining ancient books. I am trying to discuss Duan Yu-cai’s theory of “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” in my thesis from the standpoint of his motive for writing notes for “Shuo Wen Jie Zi.” I will organize his thoughts, explore the theory of his teacher, Dai Zhen, and find out their theories and purposes of words. Therefore, I will analyze “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” not only form the perspective of “Wen Zi Xue ,” but also of the history of “Jing Xue.” I hope my thesis can bring the theory of Duan Yu-cai’s “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” back to its original condition. The points of my thesis are as follows： 一、“Wen Zi Xue’s” “Ti Yong Guan” 二、The academic climate of Eastern Han Dynasty and Qing Dynasty 三、The reason why Dai Zhen and Duan Yu-cai followed the tradition of Xu Shen’s “Shuo Wen Jie Zi” 四、The motive for Duan Yu-cai’s writing notes for “Shuo Wen Jie Zi” 五、The theory of Duan Yu-cai’s “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” 六、How “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” are used in classical books 七、The characteristics of the theory of Duan Yu-cai’s “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” By developing these points, I hope I can explore the reason why he used “Zhuan Zhu” and “Jia Jie” to prove the meaning of ancient books, bring them to their original conditions, and recover the purpose of his writing notes for “Shuo Wen Jie Zi.”
