In addition to short and lengthy novels, he is immersed in the prose, the script and the commentary. Ma Sen acts as translator and an editor. Besudes, he once won the second session of Hong Xingfu novel prize (1983), the first session of 54 prize literature commentary prize (1998) and the eighth session of prefectural city prize in literature special contribution award (2002).
Ma Sen leads a wandering life in lots of countries, which enriches his subject-matter areas. Ma Sen is not only unwilling to use the same writing technique but also reluctant to set up the ending and the trend of his works in advance,so his eight novels are sort of experimental meanings because of the narrative technique. For example, he writes a series of stories according to his traveling areas﹙Paris, Beijing, and the prefectural city﹚As a masculine writer, Ma Sen takes the female’s view to finish his work"Nightwalking". Morever, he completes "Life in Bottle" by monologue primarily. As for "Sea gull", he makes use of the symbolic technique throughout the entire book. " Desolation " expresses the moder people’s difficult circumstances. In addition, he uses the skill of dialogues from every character to finish "The M Journey".
The paper introduced the writer, Ma Sen first,and then made a description of his review in succession, and the creation advancement about his life. The paper aims to research Ma Sen’s eight published novels. In the research method and the angle, the paper was divided into three parts discusses the short story "Paris''s Story", "Beijing''s Story", "Prefectural city Story" the situation which emits sound for the different character. The second part is the inquisition novel "Nightwalking" and "Life in Bottle"
which express the protagonist’s course of self pursuit. The third part is by the short story "Desolation", "Sea gull", "The M Journey" primarily, to analyse and present the subject of desolation and dilutedness. Finally the paper ends in orangizing Ma Sen’s changeable work style.
