Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for the semiconductor industry is to measure the efficiency of production equipment, and we can use this
method to clearly categorize the OEE loss and excavate the factors of equipment utilization loss.
IC assembly is indispensable in semiconductor industry, and still growing in the future. However, electronic products are getting innovative, and trend forward lighter,
thinner, shorter, high-end process. Increasing raw material costs, stricter customer requirements and other factors, all cause declining assembly profits. Facing this
situation, how to reduce waste and inefficient production, improve customer satisfaction and competitiveness has become a major challenge.
In this paper, we use the concept of OEE index to build the OEE system in A Assembly and Test OEM Services Company. And we use the key indexes, such as operating efficiency and repair probability to identify and analyze the factors of equipment utilization loss for equipment OEE improvement. These improvement activities will make the company earn more market advantages.
