How the background variables of the accountants influenced their perceptions of role stress along with job burnout, and to study the correlation between role stress and job burnout. Furthermore, to analyse the role stress on the impact of job burnout. The study was carried out among the staff of the full-time and adjunct accountants at elementary schools in Changhua County, Taichung County, Taichung City and Nan-tou County . There were 292 effective questionnaires collected. The data has been com-piled in a database using the SPSS 14.0 software program. The statistical methods used were descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance), Pearson cross-product correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The findings of this study are as follows: 1.In general, the level of role stress of the accountants at elementary schools appeared to be above the average. 2.In general, the level of job burnout of the accountants at elementary schools appeared to be under the average. 3.The role stress of the accountants at elementary schools varied by such as ages differ-ences, educational levels, the working counties, and the circumstances of either full-time or adjunct. 4.The job burnout perceived by the accountants at elementary schools varied by such as the working counties differences and the conditions of either full-time or adjunct. 5.There is a positive correlation and a positive effection between job stress and job bur-nout. Finally, the findings of this study could be referable for the accounting office, elementary schools, the accountants, and future studies.
