The objective of the study is to synthesize the characteristics curves of soils, especially colluvium, and the factors, volumetric water content, residual volumetric water content, potential intake factor, pore size index, soil pore size distribution parameters, related to the curve for van Genuchten (VG) model and Gardner model. These factors will be used by TRIGRS program to understand the effect of rainfall infiltration to the slope stability. The fitting software, GOSA, is used to fit the characteristics curves of eight different soils to obtain the input factors for analysis using TRIGRS. For the slope angle at 25, 30, 35 and 40 degrees, the depth to failure and groundwater table can be calculated for factor of safety equal to one for colluvium. Different initial conditions of the soil at the same slope angle and rainfall will induce different infiltration curve. The slope is appeared to be more stable for soils with larger fines content or higher cohesion, Sung-Chi Hsu 徐松圻 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 83 zh-TW
