Through cross-sectional questionnaire was used to survey patients over 65 years of age in a regional teaching hospital in Changhua County, to facilitate the sample survey, applying face to face interview method, a total of 80 subjects, the questionnaire return rate of 100%, CVI value was 88.33-100%, the reliability coefficient Knowledge LI (r) is 0.50; attitude Cronbach''s α coefficient (r) 0.63 The results revealed (1) A total of 80 subjects of the sample survey revealed the patients’ knowledge score for the prevention of falls was 66.73 points, poor; attitude score of 74.65 points, more positive; behavior score of 76.15 points, the most positive; (2) Patients without medical history and whether the caregiver''s behavior to prevent falls was more significant. The conclusion and recommendation is as following: (1) The proposed health education for fall prevention should be fully implemented to reduce the incidence of falls among hospitalization. (2) The nurses still need to strengthen the inpatient fall prevention and promote health education related knowledge. (3) Early assessment and identification of the characteristics of patient falls, and implementation of preventive measures to prevent falls could reduce injuries and complications of patient falls.
