In order to understand the operating characteristics of PV systems, the data sources can be divided into two categories: (1) The first category is the data collected by Green Energy and Environmental Research Institute, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). It includes the operating data from 202 sets of PV systems by manual record, with the weather conditions data from Atmospheric Research Database, to analyze the system performance and availability. The collected data includes the monthly energy yield, fault situations, ambient temperature and solar irradiation. Bad data detection and failure data estimation approaches are proposed to guarantee the quality of the received information. (2) The second category is the data collected by the Green Energy Research Center, Ching Yun University (CYU). It includes the operating data from 11 sets of PV systems by real-time monitoring. It includes monitoring time, solar irradiation, ambient temperature and energy yield for each 10 seconds. By using the two categories of data, the performance and availability of the PV systems are analyzed, and then both results are compared. The difference between the two categories of data can be understood. Analysis results show that the manual record data collected by ITRI has average performance ratio 0.74, availability 95.7%, and the real-time monitoring data collected by CYU has average performance ratio 0.78, availability 99.8%. It is indicated that The PR value and availability of PV systems with monitoring equipment are better than those of PV systems with manual record. These performance results are similar with those of Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Japan. 黃厚生 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 66 zh-TW
