Summary: | 碩士 === 中原大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 99 === This thesis proposes an automatic motorcycle accident detecting system with the general common smartphones using Android system to determine motorcycle accident by its accelerometer sensor inside. When it detects that the user is extremely high probability for the motorcycle accident, immediately the system will report to the management center or designated contact people, dispatching promptly first responders. The GPS coordinates of the accident site will be transmitted to the rescue units to help them arrive at the accident site as quickly as possible.
Our proposed method can be divided into three parts. They are: “Motorcycle Accident Detecting System”, “Algorithm Design without Accessory”, and “Simulations and Results”. In the first part, by using the accelerometer sensor in the Android platform to detect g-force (acceleration) experience, and based on the accelerometer sensor changes, then it detects whether the motorcycle accident occur or not. In the second part, we will present a detection algorithm based on the smartphone platforms without accessories. We will combine it with our simulations. Finally, in the third part, we will present g-force modes, and we will implement a prototype system on the Android system smartphone and we will conduct extensive simulations to evaluate our system.
The proposed system has the following contributions:
(1)Because of high using growth rate of Android system phones, that people easy access to this application.
(2)Let injuries immediately to be found and rescued after an accident.
(3)Decreasing the time delay between occurred motorcycle accident with the first responder dispatching.
(4)People don’t need to buy motorcycle accident detecting machines, so the system can avoid additional costing.
