In order to improve energy shortage and global warming issues, we must active develop renewable energy. People responding to energy saving and carbon reducing has increased popularity of bikes. Bikes were the most advanced vehicles in the world that allow travel and exercise. In this thesis, we use dynamo and solar power to generate electricity. Combining the two powers, this thesis proposes a dual power charging circuit, using a switch to change power sources, and using a control circuit with a Lithium Ion battery to save energy. We can use a Lithium Ion battery to provide bike’s lighting and USB devices. In the experimental results, it was found that using a switch to change power sources resulted on faster charging efficiency than using a single power source.
