The medical environmental quality of Taiwan could be as same level as the deverlped countries. However, no matter the visual aesthetics or the psychological comfort in environment design are still need do more efforts compare with the developed countries such as America and Europe. Recentlly, some clinics begin to emphasize on the spacial aesthetics except the medical technologies. Thus, the interior design aesthetics are employed by them to create more comfortable space for the patients. On the contrast, the environment of large medical facilities such as medical center still without concept of spacial aesthetics. Beside the design aesthetics to the environment, the most important thing is to realize the concept of theraputic environment within healthcare environment because that can healing the patient’s body, mind and spirit except the phycial condition. Therefore, in this study, the checklist based on the principle of universal design will be employed to check the public space of hospital which were evaluated by the department of Health, Executive Yuan, R.O.C.(Taiwan) as the calss of “excellent” to exame the the environment of these hospitals consistent with the principle of universal design. These evaluation items can be classified into lighting, sign, color, ergonomic and functions. Furthermore, the conclusion from the analysis above will be use to induce and classify to be a form of checklist for the design of healthcare or medical facilities public space based on the principle of the Universal Design. Some suggestion will be conclude in order to offer the authority of Health to improve their evaluation criteria. Tsann-Chung Wu 吳燦中 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 66 zh-TW
