Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 工業與系統工程研究所 === 99 === In recent years, the rapid development of high-tech industry has accelerated regional economic development. In a highly competitive environment, many companies consider outsourcing strategy in order to enhance the company's core competitiveness and increase their competitive advantage. However, very few studies explored the issues relating to outsourcing and inventory control. Moreover, high-tech products are characterized by a decrease offing items price over time. Therefore, this study considers price changes and outsourcing in an inventory problem. We develop an optimal ordering inventory policy for a single retailer considering price changes for imperfect items with rework items, as well as employing outsourcing strategy. The inventory model is solved using Maple 13 and Excel 2007. The objective of the study is to find the optimal number of orders and optimal order quantity that would result in the minimum total cost for the retailer. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis are given to illustrate the changing effect in the key parameters of the model. A management insight is given to illustrate the significance of the study.
