It has been widely used as a back filled material. Slag is the by-product of steel plants. The engineering properties of slag-lateritic soil mixtures prepared by uniformly slag-soil mixed method are always discussed yet it is not easily to conduct in the felid. The layered type (i.e. slag to be an infilling material between lateritic soil layers) should be a more reasonable method to be used in the field. This study intended to develop a device of preparing remold triaxial specimen which can prepare layered soil to a designated state.
