Summary:碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 健康產業管理研究所 === 99 === Goal: The main goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of public health nursing services in public health centers in Taiwan and Philippines Objectives: To sustain and develop an equitable, high quality, cost effective service, providing a continuum of care by a combination of community and inpatient services. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Public Health Services in selected public health centers in the cities of Taiwan and Philippines this school year 2008-2010. This study was specifically focused on the following topics: the philosophy, concepts, goals and objectives off public health nursing; the profile of the respondent-service providers as to age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, number of years in service, and position while the profiles of respondent-beneficiaries are: age, sex, civil status, monthly income, household size and occupation; the level of performance public health personnel in public health centers in terms of nursing care to individuals and families, supportive and coordinative activities, administrative responsibilities and research and studies; the significant differences in the performance of functions of public health personnel when group of respondents are considered; the level of effectiveness of public health services towards the following: maternal and child health and Family planning, control of communicable diseases, Immunization and Nutrition Program; Significant differences in the perceived level of effectiveness of public health services when group of respondents are considered; the problems encountered in the management of the public health services as perceived by service providers and beneficiaries, and the solutions offered to overcome them. Conclusion: Many of the respondent-beneficiaries are married, within below middle age, and had a family of their own. Majority of them are female beneficiaries who are government employees and laborers. Majority of them are female health personnel with bachelor’s degree. The level of effectiveness of the public health personnel’s functions/ responsibilities toward public health services is effective, more particularly in terms of: maternal and child health, communicable diseases, Immunization and in terms of Nutrition program.
