碩士 === 中國醫藥大學 === 中醫學系碩士班 === 99 === Our study concerns about the three aspects of the development of Taiwanʼs acupuncture research in academics , the relationships between Taiwanʼs and worldwide acupuncture development, and the trend and change of the major topics in Taiwanʼs acupuncture papers. We collect our study materials from Taiwan government gazettes, administration, local records since 1929, books such as the history of acupuncture development, and Taiwanʼs Chinese Medicine, as well as acupuncture-related academic papers since 1951 from “National Digital Library of Journal Papers in Taiwan”, “National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan”, “PubMed of U.S. National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health”, “China Journal Net”, and so forth. Based on our study, the academic development of Taiwanʼs acupuncture started in early 1960s, and can be divided into six stages; they are “research foundation stage,” “research developmental stage,” “slowly growing stage,” “short period of decline,” “steadily growing stage,” and “accelerated growing stage.” Though there are tiny difference in academice topic about acupuncture between Taiwan and the rest of the world, the whole trend of the development of acupuncture is the same.
