Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 運輸科技與物流管理學系碩士班 === 99 === The main purpose of this study is analyzing the content of traffic safety education for lower-grade elementary school students. We use modified Delphi method to obtain the priority of the content of traffic safety education. The Delphi group is consisted of traffic safety experts, elementary education experts and lower-grade elementary school teachers. According to our review, twenty-five items of traffic safety education are identified and are categorized into five areas. Among the items, “obey the traffic rules while walking” is chosen to design teaching plan and demonstration. The teaching plan and demonstration are successful and some conclusions are drawn. First, students have better cognition in traffic rules after class. The second grade students present better cognition before class; however, the first and the second grade students show no difference after class. Both boys and girls performs well and show no difference. Different teachers can improve the cognition of traffic rules of students to the same level by the same teaching plan. Therefore, the teaching plan and activities designed in this study is helpful. It is important to teach lower-grade elementary school students how to walk safely. Unfortunately, only a few content is included in the standard teaching outline of elementary school. We hope the analyses and demonstration presented in this study would be a start and other researchers could keep studying everlasting.
