Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 行政管理學系碩士班 === 99 === This study is to investigate the key factors which affect the junior high school teachers in Hsinchu County when attending in-service education, and to explore the relationship among these factors. The research methods are document analysis and questionnaire survey. By reviewing relevant literature, motivations, obstacles and behavior intentions of attending in-service education are taken as research variables to establish a research structure and to develop the questionnaire. Besides, the learning styles of the junior high school teachers in Hsinchu County are examined to understand their personal characteristics and learning behavior. Finally, suggestions are proposed for educational administrations, academic institutions, junior high schools and teachers, as well as further researchers.
The subjects of this study are the teachers who teach in the public junior high schools in Hsinchu County, and 676 of them are taken as samples of this study. The data of questionnaire survey are processed and analyzed with statistical methods and Structural Equation Modeling. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The motivations of attending in-service education have a positively significant impact on the obstacles of attending in-service education, the motivations of attending in-service education have a positively significant impact on the behavior intentions of attending in-service education, and the obstacles of attending in-service education have a negatively significant impact on the behavior intentions of attending in-service education. 2. The key factors of the motivations, in order of influence, are Social Relation, External Expectation, Professional Advancement, Escape/Stimulation, Social Welfare and Cognitive Interest. The key factors of the obstacles, in order of influence, are Family Factor, Personal Factor, Education Institution and Work Unit. The key factors of the behavior intentions, in order of influence, are Consideration, Recommendation and Willingness. 3. The learning styles of the junior high school teachers in Hsinchu County are Divergers, Accommodators, Convergers and Assimilators. Among them, Assimilators are the most, and Divergers are the least. 4. Among the styles of learning, most Convergers mainly attend Master degree programs and think it’s the most effective. In the meanwhile, Accommodators accept e-learning most and are willing to keep on learning in this way most. 5. Most junior high school teachers in Hsinchu County attend in-service education within and outside schools in the daytime on weekdays. However, they think Master degree programs and outside-school workshops are the most effective and also the modes of in-service education they desire most.
