The unit provides out-patient services and the patients buy stoma products at their own expense. Since the unit operates manually, patients spend about 30-40 minutes to finish the buying process. Furthermore, patients need to travel among different units to pay and to get the needed products. In terms of patient-centered philosophy of service, this kind of manual service is no longer sufficiently satisfied with consumer needs. By this concern, we redesign the whole process and introduce KIOSK system to improve the service. In this multi-function and self-service payment system, users can browse product information, buy products, and make payment. Satisfaction comparison between manual and KIOSK self-service payment system are made by purposeful sampling method as well. The satisfactory survey found that self-service payment systems is better than the manual operation system, especially in the users having age less than 50, higher education level, experience of using a computer, the experience of using other self-service information system and web shopping.
