| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 台灣文學研究所 === 99 === Xin Lin Zi, who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for nearly half a century, was a prisoner imprisoned in bed for her disease. Yet she wrote many books as if she never stopped writing, founded Eden Social Welfare Foundation, organized Disability Alliance and became the mother who protected every disabled person. In the research, Xin Lin Zi’s “articles about disease” and “social activity” were used as the research angle to seek her healing journey.
This paper is divided into five chapters to show Xin Lin Zi’s articles about disease and social activities. Chapter 1 – “Introduction”: This chapter explains the research motivation and objective, the research scope and method and the result summary of previous similar researches. Chapter 2 – “Xin Lin Zi’s Course of Road to Heaven”: Through brief understanding about Xin Lin Zi’s life, the content of her articles about disease and her motivation to participate in social activities are further grasped. Chapter 3 – “Reality about Xin Lin Zi’s Disease and Her Articles about the Disease”: This chapter focuses on her articles about disease; The trauma and impact the disease brought to her life are analyzed first before seeking the possibility of using literature as a treatment prescription; The elements in her articles about disease are explored and shown while the characteristics of her articles about disease are concluded at last. Chapter 4 – “Xin Lin Zi’s Social Activities and Relative Articles”: A systematic description on the way she cared about diseased people and the hardships she encountered when establishing Eden Social Welfare Foundation, organizing Disability Alliance and participating in social activities are shown. The ways she tried to get rid of social prejudice, treat sickness in society and build a haven for physically and mentally disabled people are discussed. Chapter 5 – “Conclusion”: By summarizing the analyses and discussions in previous chapters, the healing effects of Xin Lin Zi’s articles and social activities are divided into Self-Redemption, Treatment for Diseased People and Removal of Demons in Society; A complete conclusion is made on the result and value of the researches on Xin Lin Zi.
