Enterprises use knowledge management system (KMS) to support their knowledge management. The major challenge to enterprises is how they can encourage their employees to use knowledge management systems effectively. Some efforts have been made in understanding factors influencing user’s knowledge contribution or knowledge seeking behavior. However, exploring factors from a knowledge broker’s perspective is required.
This study adopted the theory of planned behavior to identify factors influencing user acceptance of knowledge management system. A survey was conducted. The questionnaires were distributed to knowledge workers in ten organizations which have adopted KMS. There are 233 usable questionnaires were returned. The analytical result indicated that social presence, timeliness, knowledge understandability, task interdependence, and task uncertainty significantly influence user’s attitude toward KMS. Additionally, knowledge self-efficacy significantly influences user’s perceived behavioral control. Interpersonal influence significantly influence user’s subject norm. Finally, user’s attitude, subject norm, and perceived behavioral control significantly influence user’s intention to use KMS.
