Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治研究所 === 99 === The study focuses on personal background, stress and stress coping responses of sexual offenders. Besides, the relationship between personal characters, stress sensation and stress coping response of sexual offenders were also covered in this study. The〝Stress scale〞 and the〝Stress coping scale〞 are the primary research tools in this study. Sexual probationers who had violated the law of sexual assault crime prevention and were under the supervision of probation officers are the research samples of this study. 700 questionnaires were disbuted and 573 of them were retrieved. Total number of effective questionnaires is 529, and the rate of effective questionnaires up to 92.3%. The raw data was analyzed through statistic methods such as factor analysis, frequency distribution, percentile rank, one-way ANOVA, independent sample t-test, Scheff'e test, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regressions. The main research results are listed below: 1. Most of the sexual offenders are 21 to 30 of age, high school graduates, workers by vocation, unmarried and earn NTD 20,000 to 40,000 per month. They suffer major from mental/physical stress and minor from working stress, familial stress and social stress. On the other hand, they tend to use negative attitudes to handle their daily pressure. 2. The stress sensation of sexual offenders varied from their age, educational level, vocation and salary. 3. The 〝positive coping methods〞 of sexual offenders varied by their age, educational level and marriage status. But the 〝negative coping methods〞 of sexual offenders do not vary by their personal backgrounds. 4. Alcoholic sexual offenders feel more pressed than the others do. Besides, first offenders resort to negative coping response more than repeated offenders. 5. Working pressure, familial pressure and mental/physical pressure show negative correlations with both positive coping response and negative coping response. 6. Age, degree, vocation and mental/physical stress related positively to the coping response of sexual offenders. Record of previous crime, Social pressure, familial pressure and mental/physical related negatively to the coping response of sex offenders.
