Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 輔導與諮商學系研究所 === 99 === The main purpose of this study is to explore the connection of emotional intelligence, gender role attitudes, and peer relationships among junior high school students. In order to achieve the purpose, the researcher employed the method of the questionnaire survey. The researcher obtained the agreement of the editors of “Youth Gender Role Inventory” “Youth Emotional Intelligence Scale” and “Peer Relationship Scale” to be the research instrument. The target population included the 1th-,2th- and 3th- graders of junier high schools in Chiayi County, Chiayi City, Tainan County, Tainan City & Kaohsiung City, among which 892 valid samples were obtained through stratified random sampling, the researcher retrieves the data and afterwards conducts data analysis with such methods as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Major findings derived from this study are listed as follows: 1. The level of the students’ emotional intelligence in junior high school is above the average; Their attitudes toward gender roles seems like modern affirmative; They tend to own a good peer relationship. 2. The females in junior high schools perform better on their peer rela-tionships than the male counterparts (t=-6.39, p<.001); Different grades of junior high school students in peer relationships, there is no significant difference (F=2.92, p>.05); Different socioeconomic status of junior high school students in peer relations, there is no significant difference (F=1.54, p>.05). 3. Moderate positive correlations existed between the emotional intel-ligence and peer relationships among one-three graders in junior high schools(r=.66, p<.01); Low positive correlation existed between the gender role attitudes and peer relationships among one-three graders in junior high schools(r=.26, p<.01). 4. “Understand their own emotions ” “Emotional management”“ Self Motivation”“ Identifying emotions of others”“ Business relation-ships”“ Social rights and obligations” ;Six factors explained "the whole peer relationships"in the junior high school students up to 49% of the variance. Finally, this study is based on the results of the study were dis-cussed, and make recommendations, and as parenting education, coun-seling, classroom management, teaching and reference for future re-search.
