This study focuses on the social networks within the Learning Community effects on student learning, and on how to use ICT for knowledge sharing so as to help students improve their learning. This study is conducted in the classes in Yuan Ze University which uses Case Method Teaching as their main objects. 183 questionnaires were collected and analyzed by social network analysis and statistical methods including the average analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results show that social network and ICT for knowledge sharing and learning outcomes have no significant correlation. The friendship network is more active than advice network within the learning community. Significantly, most teams are homogeneous teams, which help to facilitate maintaining the friendship, and to further strengthen the interaction of team members. Face-to-Face is the most commonly used medium, followed by the instant messaging and mobile phones, all of which are media of high social presence and media richness, and are helpful to the maintenance of social relations, supporting the team members to have close relations. Email was inferred to be the intermediary role of knowledge sharing tools that would facilitate active advice network, thereby affecting the sharing of knowledge. Therefore, from the perspectives of achieving innovation and ICT assists learning, this study suggests that the teams try to adopt heterogeneous grouping to stimulate the emergence of new thinking and to adopt IM interactive system to facilitate the implementation of the case method.
