Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 98 === In this thesis, Fluent is used to simulate the fluid flow and heat transfer for the plate fins and wavy fins under various conditions. Two different lengths of plate fins (150mm and 165.5mm), and two different corrugation angles (15° and 25°) have been analyzed in the thesis. The bottom of the fins keep at constant low temperature of 278K, and the incoming air remains at high temperature of 300K.
Four parameters are chosen to compare the performance of different fins, which include the monitor point temperature, heat transfer rate, Nusselt number, and pressure drop. The results show that the monitor point temperature is lower for larger corrugation angle of the wavy fins for the same incoming air speed. However, the heat transfer rate, Nusselt number, and pressure drop are larger for larger corrugation angle of the wavy fins.
