The 21st century is an era of knowledge economy, Taiwan has been going through the liberalization, internationalization, diversification, and globalization. Competition and changes will be usual for Taiwan, and globalization lead to changes in nursing education is facing a great impact. The nursing profession is dominated by service industries , which is centered by human, and it providing the first line health care in the health care system. Nursing care and professional education to cultivate the direction should also be adjusted in response to the changes in the health care system and health insurance policies. Thus, in addition to the present nursing education, continuous education is needed in order to enhance professional competence and quality. Objective: In this study, the purpose is to understand present nurses receive continuing education status and the implementation of nursing continuing education after the results. Design: We conducted a Cross-sectional survey in this study. Samples are120 nurses in a regional teaching hospital in Taoyuan County, Taiwan. We used a self-structured questionnaire to collect the information related to continuing nursing education, response rate was 90.8%, Using SAS9.1 version software for data analysis. Results: The study found that: (1) Clinical nursing duties, marital status, age and after the implementation of continuing education results are not associated with effectiveness of self-evaluation among nurses. (2) The higher score in the attitude of nurses for continuing education is positively related to the effectiveness of self-evaluation among nurses. (3) The greater impact of continuing nursing education might reduce the effectiveness of self-evaluation among nurses.
