碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 98 === The research studies the reasons for the bankruptcy of The Windance Shopping Center in Hsinchu city. The research studies from a historical perspective. The writer once worked in this very shopping center and got access to all the information including meeting minutes, files, voice memos and so on from the generous owner. We hope that we can find the reasons for the mall’s breakdown. From the angle of history reconstruction, this thesis analyzed all the process of production and operations, financial management, marketing management, human resource management and information management of this shopping center. After all the studies, this thesis gets the conclusions of its bankruptcy as following: 1. Rapid expansion will affect the company''s financial operations. 2. Ignorance of the boom of land cost resulted by increment duty on land value after operation. 3. Insufficient business caused meager earning. 4. False analysis of business information influenced revenue. 5. Popular brands difficult to attract high-spending groups. 6. Loans being rejected by all banks for its low credit rating. Lessons can also be learnt from the mistakes of others. The writer hopes all these would be helpful to the companies who intend to be engaged in shopping center business.
