Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 98 === The heterogeneous wireless network service environment integrates wireless broadband and mobile communication networks, which can provide mobile users with different types of network services across different radio access technologies. In the heterogeneous wireless network service environment, mobile users can use different radio access technologies to effectively get mobile multimedia application services. Note that, when users move, the network access services available to users will be changed. In case the network resources are not able to meet the requirements of mobile multimedia application services, the latency to process the service discovery becomes excessive, resulting in the increase in the discovery blocking probability and the decrease in the user satisfaction. Therefore, this thesis designs and develops a resource-aware service discovery strategy to reduce the discovery blocking probability and to increase the user satisfaction. Moreover, in order to integrate difference types of network service platforms and units in the heterogeneous wireless network service environment, the resource-aware service discovery strategy employs the concept of the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), which consists of two units: resource-aware and service-discovery. The resource-aware unit is responsible for obtaining the current state of the location-dependent network resources. The service-discovery unit then conducts the service discovery based on the status of the available network resources obtained from the resource-aware unit. Finally, this thesis develops an event-driven simulation to study the performance of the resource-aware service discovery strategy under various system parameters.
